Who is this site for?
This site is for communicators. Mainly technical communicators, sure. But it’s also for anyone interested in communication and writing.
Is that you? Welcome!
Who am I?
My name is Rob. Yep.
I was born in 1969, so in 2010 I turned 41. Of course, this blog will be around for 50 to 1000 years, so those of you reading this decades or centuries from 2010 will have to do math. I’m sorry, but I’m also happy to have helped in the education of future generations.
Since 2000 or so, I’ve worked as a Technical Communicator. These days, I’m also a marketing writer and all-round writing guru. In fact, I’m the only editorial resource at the largest independent Internet provider in America.
I’ve got a degree in English from the University of Georgia, which means that I actually use my college degree!
I’ve traveled a ton, but these days more or less stay home.
I’ve written a ton, but only publish tech and marketing communication (which means that millions of people have read my writing).
I read a ton. Lots of non-fiction (over a wide range of topics), the occasional classic, the occasional beach read. You can see my more or less up-to-date library on LibraryThing, here.
Hobbies. Hmm. Writing, reading. We’ve already covered that. I do love technology and such, so I spend a lot of time on my beautiful Mac. I love movies. Should I list my favorites? Nah. And I like to play around with editing video. Weird, huh? Blogging, if that’s a hobby.
I’m married to Pauline, a woman I met in 1995 who’s even more beautiful than my Mac.
I have a daughter named Piper, who was born in 2007. (More math.) Piper is beautiful, too.
And I have a son named Ed. He was born in 2009. He’s a beauty, too, of course.
Oh, I live in Atlanta, where I was raised, and where I have lots of family.
You can follow me on twitter. I’m robertwlevy there.
So I think that covers my About page. Congratulations for reaching the bottom of it!
